Waitakere College is a successful mid-sized secondary school, founded in 1975 and located in the heart of West Auckland. We are proud of our strong technology infrastructure that enables innovative teaching using a full range of digital, physical and interactive learning methods, and connects our students to global thinking.

Our many choices of excellent courses, that can be taken right through to Senior levels, cater for a wide range student needs. We also have specialist Academies for Sport, Performing Arts, Health Sciences, Medical Sciences, Military Services, Building, Engineering, Hospitality, as well as academic pathways to universities and other tertiary study. We are consistently ahead of the national averages for Merit and Excellence awards in Level 1, 2 and 3 NCEA and the Scholarships examination.
