About Morris & Morris Funeral Directors

Morris & Morris was founded in 1944 in Warkworth by Bernal and Mabel Morris. They carried out the business of funeral directing in the town for nine years before moving to Whangarei in 1953. In 1988 a new funeral home was built on Kamo Road at our present premises and a state of the art building with chapel and reception facilities was created for our clients. Morris and Morris was owned by the Morris family up until it was purchased in 2006 by the Little family, a well known and respected family of funeral directors from Auckland. Gary Taylor, General Manager, heads our very experienced team at Morris & Morris.

We believe the company still operates today with the same level of care and professionalism that it provided in the 1940's with all the modern conveniences and technology of today's world to provide a complete funeral experience. We see ourselves as having one of the most challenging jobs in the world but also one of the most rewarding. We understand that a funeral is often a sad and emotionally traumatic time for family members and friends and we understand the value that our friendly and experienced support brings to those who use our services.

We know how to create special funeral services that are individual and unique, whether it's a burial or cremation ceremony, and we encourage family members to be a part of the decision making regarding the service.
