Why did I start FitX?
Having and maintaining good physical health is essential to experiencing this life optimally. That’s not mine or someone else's opinion, this is a hard scientific fact. From the alleviation and ability to cope with stress better, to the incredibly awesome feeling of endorphins (feel good hormones) rushing all though your body to the ability to perform physical tasks you once thought were impossible, the ways physical activity can enhance your quality of life are truly endless.
Over the past 12 years I have put in countless hours into in my craft which has given me a broad area of expertise in the physical health world and the martial arts/self defence world.
What I can offer is the following:
Self defence techniques
Two things are for certain, 1. Nothing is more important than family 2. This country can be a dangerous and violent place at times. We all wish this wasn’t true but despite how nice our country may seem, this is a harsh reality. 24% of women experience sexual assault in their life time and 76% of family violence incidents are NOT reported to Police. Having a basic level of self defence is essential for the safety of yourself and your family.
Fitness training
No matter who you are maintaining your physical fitness and health is essential to experiencing life optimally. The fitness aspect will include a combination of striking based techniques such as punches, kicks and other general striking techniques interspersed with traditional fitness training methods to add excitement keeping the sessions fresh and fun.
The FitX session
These explosive 50 min sessions will include a combination of self defence techniques and kickboxing based techniques such as punches, kicks and other general striking techniques interspersed with traditional fitness methods keeping the sessions fresh and fun while learning how to protect yourself. This has the added benefit of not only making the journey to your fitness goal exciting but you also learn the basics of striking. Never know when it might come in handy!
I understand everyone has different goals so if you would like to spend more time focusing on a certain area of the session we can easily do that whether that be spending more time on
-self defence
-Fitness or
-learning cool striking techniques we can tailor the session together to what you want.
Otherwise the following is the standard session plan
-10 mins of stretching and warming up
-15 mins of self defence techniques and then..
-Exciting Fitness for the rest of the session.

About my self
I have been doing Martial arts for 12 years and have competed as apart of the New Zealand Taekwondo Men's team for 4 of those years. I have competed at various world class tournaments around the world including the World Championships in Chinese Taipei. Through my years of competing on the world stage I have a gained valuable knowledge in kicking, punching, striking, athletic development and general fitness training. This gives me a broad area of expertise. I have extensive experience training men and woman whether that be 1 on 1 classes or group classes.
Aside from this I currently teach Self Defence at Tony Martins Gym and I'm a sports coach for Kelly Sports where we get children engaged with sports and human movement.
