This increases our demand for charging multiple devices almost on a daily basis. We of course now routinely charge devices at multiple locations - bedroom, living room, car, office, cafe etc etc
While the convenience of devices is hard to dispute, charging is fast and easy.
We should not overlook that we are typically charging lithium batteries, and they need to be treated with respect.
Do not ever charge a device sitting on your lovely soft duvet. The duvet envelopes the device and the results can be catastrophic.
An Auckland home left a tablet charging for the day on a duvet. The entire upstairs was enveloped in flames. Fire & Emergency appeared on Breakfast TV this week warning people about this very issue.
USB charging has become commonplace, and to mitigate risk, AB Electrical can add USB charging ports to double power points, or add USB ports on a plate next to an existing power point. This greatly enhances your charging utility and helps make your home more safe

But often families overlook that they are leaving their family home unattended. Security lights activated by motion detection provide a fantastic deterrent to people who may be snooping around while you are away. When your driveway suddenly lights up like Eden Park, this is a great message for the uninvited to go elsewhere. Makes sure you have some form of security lighting in place before you head off to the beach. Replace failed security lights and ensure peace of mind while you are away. Don't be the only home in the street that has no security lights - you may become the target

New Zealand’s oldest phone and internet infrastructure is slowly being retired as Chorus continues to modernise and future-proof the broadband network. After the first landline telephones arrived in New Zealand in 1881, a copper phone line network was built across the country, ultimately reaching 98 percent of us where we live and work.
This copper network which has served Kiwis well for their landline and more recently, internet needs, for over a century is now becoming redundant.
