But KidsCan is helping. Since October they've been delivering five … View moreIn our own backyard, our youngest kids are going without the basics. Unlike schools, early childhood centres don’t have a nationwide support programme. Children under 5 are at the most crucial age for brain development.
But KidsCan is helping. Since October they've been delivering five fresh meals a week to 25 early childhood centres, and kitting out kids with new raincoats and shoes. They want to extend the programme, so no one misses out on learning.
KidsCan, Neighbourly and Stuff have partnered up to raise enough money to feed and clothe 1000 more children under five. To support a child, sign up at KidsCan.org.nz.

To note: The Global … View moreHi Readers. We are looking for 300 volunteers to be part of a unique fundraising strategy, called the Global Loyalty-Rewards Fundraiser. This fundraiser will result in our charity preparing and delivering hot lunches to children in low decile schools in Whangarei.
To note: The Global Loyalty-Rewards Fundraiser is not a donation-based fundraiser, rather, it is a membership fee-based fundraiser.
HOW VOLUNTEERS CAN HELP PROVIDE HOT LUNCHES TO CHILDREN IN WHANGAREI'S LOW-DECILE SCHOOLS:
Volunteers will be part of a coordinated effort, where they will deliver a written appeal to businesses in the retail, commercial and industrial areas of Whangarei. The appeal asks businesses if they would give a
5-10% discount, or a special offer (loyalty-rewards) to the people who fund the hot lunches project. Businesses thereby become the 'rewarders' in this loyalty-rewards fundraiser. These businesses are known as Supporter Businesses... they receive permanent, free advertising space on our charity website, with absolutely no fees to pay, to advertise their business and their support of our charity.
We will also be taking up a phone campaign, to reach all businesses listed in the Northland Yellow Pages Directory. Our aim is to reach all businesses in Whangarei, to ask them to become Supporter Businesses (conditions/vetting standards apply).
With a collective, coordinated effort, we hope to build a large directory of Supporter Businesses on our charity website. If we can get hundreds of Whangarei businesses registered on our charity website, offering discounts and special offers, this will attract the people who fund the children's hot lunches.
These funders are called Network Members. Thees members will be happy to pay the annual membership fee of $195, because they will be able to receive back the value of that membership fee in discounts and special offers (loyalty-rewards) offered by Supporter Businesses.

This new production of the Andrew Lloyd Webber masterpiece will visit 16 cities nationwide in April and May. As well as, being the first major theatrical performance at the $127.5 million refurbished Christchurch Town Hall it will also visit Auckland and Wellington and many of the larger regional theatres throughout New Zealand - details below.

This month is all about bringing your community together and having a great time! We want March to be all about celebrating the connections we have while making new ones along the way. As we all know, what makes a neighbourhood great isn't the houses and cars, gardens and streets - it's the people who share their presence and aroha with each other.
A wonderful way to take part is to participate in Neighbours Day Aotearoa which is celebrating it's 10th anniversary from March 22nd to 31st. To help you get started, we love their suggestions for 10 little and 10 big ways to get involved. (link below)
