Our Coordinator at Hastings District Council recently sent us this snap from a get together with residents from a new suburb who are keen to get Neighbourhood Support up and running.
To gauge interest, he hosted a free barbecue at a park with the support of their local New Zealand Police to bring neighbours together to discuss setting it up. Every group is different in how it chooses to operate. Our policy is whatever works best for your area!

X1 Boys Shorts, size 87
X3 Uniform Shirts (uni-sex) Sizes Medium and Large
X3 PE Shirts (uni-sex) Sizes Medium and Large
X3 PE Shorts (uni-sex) Sizes Large and 2XL
The three uniform shirts have a very small mark on two and one has a very small tear/rip.
The Boys uniform shorts are a bit more worn, however are in good condition.
The 2XL pair of PE shorts are a bit more worn, however are still in good condition.
All items are in good to great condition and some will easily do the next 2yrs. Some photos aren't that good and make the clothes look faded, they are all in good colour condition.
We are also selling two winter jackets, size XS (which is a Medium to Large size). $80 for both, or $40 each.
Thanks
Price: $80

Or should councils, and ratepayers, be left to fend on their own?

We want March to be all about celebrating the connections we have while making new ones along the way. As we all know, what makes a neighbourhood great isn’t the houses and cars, gardens and streets - it’s the people who share their presence and aroha with each other.
A wonderful way to take part is to participate in Neighbours Day Aotearoa which takes place from 27 March - 5 April. This year’s theme is ‘Small Things Make a Big Difference’ - we couldn’t agree more!
Let us know how you’re celebrating by email or tag us online and include the following hashtag:
