Good People

For this Thursday, the 25th August at 6pm, WFS will be screening the French Comedy, Delicious.

Our 8pm session will be the Canadian documentary, The Gardener.

Screenings are at The Captain Bougainville Theatre, Forum North.

Please Note: We are at the Orange traffic light setting and so we must abide by the guidelines set out by the WDC Forum North Events and Venue department.

Please show courtesy to others by practicing social distancing, particularly around the bar and food areas on the mezzanine floor.

Delicious,
France, 2022, Comedy (French with English subtitles)
105 mins, Rated M, Cast: Grégory Gadebois, Isabelle Carré.

This historically-based comedy tells of a gifted chef and his unlikely protégé who yearn to free themselves from servitude.

In France in the late 18th Century, gastronomy is strictly the domain of the aristocrats. So much so, the prestige of a noble house is entirely dependent on the quality and reputation of its meals.

So, when the talented but prideful cook Manceron (Gadebois) serves an unapproved dish of his own creation at a dinner hosted by the self-entitled Duke of Chamfort, Manceron is immediately dismissed.

With nowhere else to go, Manceron retreats with his son to a regional inn, where soup is the only meal served. But when a mysterious woman arrives and offers to pay to become his apprentice, the stage is set for a wildly enjoyable tale of rekindled passion, mentorship and revenge... not to mention the creation of France's very first restaurant.

Joining the ranks of films such as Big Night, Chocolat and Babette's Feast in its joyous depiction of the preparation and love of fine cuisine, DELICIOUS is just that.

View the trailer at: www.youtube.com...

Tickets: Door sales only. $10 for WFS members, $15 for non members.

Cash only please - no Eftpos/credit card services available.
