You know what's better than being stuck in boring car traffic? Riding a bike! Even if you're not fast it helps you to get around, get exercise, spot interesting things in the neighbourhood, and save lots of money on fuel and parking. So go on, give it a go!
The Aotearoa Bike Challenge is a competition between organisations to commute by bike during February. We will cruise the calm sheltered inland waterways of the Kaipara River and Harbour.
Informative commentary will be given about the bird life, history, Pa sites, ecology and nature of the area.
We will stop for lunch at THE JETTY CAFE, Shelly Bay(your own arrangement) or you can bring a picnic lunch to take ashore.
On leaving Shelly Bay we will cruise past ALLEN GIBBS SCULPTURE FARM and will sight a couple of large sculptures as we pass.
The cruise is 3.5 hrs excluding the lunch stop.
