A really terrible end to a female, who had just given birth to two bunnies. We live in Maunu and to the rear of our garden are trees/bush, with the usual wild life. Does anyone have any idea what could have done this, so we can set the appropriate traps, so this can't happen again. Thank you in advance.

Congratulations to all the finalists and thank you for nominating your favourite local business. We'd like to acknowledge the official winner of the public voting poll, Josh Coe, owner of Page 42 cafe. Unfortunately, Josh has decided to close his business after 3.5 years and we wish him all the best.

It's harnessing human competitiveness to explain the major contributors to greenhouse emissions, the actions the world could take to avoid climate catastrophe, and the wider benefits of greener energies.
For serious play and education, set aside 30 to 40 minutes of quiet and uninterrupted time. I thought I was reasonably well-informed about climate breakdown, and while I was quite happy with my result, I was surprised at what I got wrong and how much I still could learn from a simple yet effective game like this.

After the first time I got my phone to look at my visa status and there were no such charges. Of course. I am sure if they really did call me (and it would be the bank, not some generic 'Visa'), it would not be a computer voice, but someone who could actually intelligently discuss the matter.
Anyway, consider yourselves warned. They are apparently very busy/active with their little scheme if my 3 attempts are any thing to go by.

According to a study, eating two kiwi fruits one hour before bedtime may help you fall asleep faster and sleep better.
Kiwi fruits tend to carry very high antioxidant levels and serotonin levels. These antioxidants appear to have a good influence on sleep, according to a growing number of studies based around this. High levels of serotonin may also be significant, since serotonin helps to initiate sleep and then sustain sleep throughout the night. It also helps to regulate the phases of sleep and stimulates alertness in the morning. Test it out to set yourself for a perfect night in slumber, but things surely do appear to be going well for the small fruit.

We need to plan ahead and be ready for change in the air transport sector. Aircraft types and sizes may change in future, or Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) rules may change. Either of these could require the airport to shift from Onerahi, potentially some time in the 2030's.
The existing airport at Onerahi has a relatively short runway with smaller than usual safety areas at each end. We have looked at extending the safety margins, but problems with this option mean we must also consider new potential sites elsewhere in our District. We have permission from the CAA to continue using the existing Onerahi airport for the time being, giving us time to examine potential new sites.
We have identified three potential new sites: Ruatangata West, Ruatangata and One Tree Point West. From initial investigations these potential sites all appear to meet the required criteria including enough clear flat land for a runway, clear airspace at either end (ie no mountains or hills), land for the operational area a new airport would require, and relatively close links to state highways.
Now it's time to include the community in this study. Please take the time to examine each of the options, and share your perspective through the 'Have your say' options.
