When was the last time you got "up close" to a Kiwi?

Buy an adult ticket to Kiwi North and bring up to 3 kids along for free. That includes entry to the Kiwi House and Whangarei Museum .
The kiwi are most active at 11am, 1pm and 3pm when they're getting fed, so that's an ideal time to watch these little guys in their home.
While you're here, tractors and train rides are on at Heritage Park. Whangarei Model Engineering Club mini train rides are $2.00, Steam and Model Railway Club big train rides are $2.50 and Northland Vintage Machinery Club tractor rides are $2.50. It's a pretty special way to see the park for kids and big kids alike.
See you there!

We're very mindful that we need to take care of our environment. All fish and eels will be safely relocated from the head pond and canal downstream while this work is being completed.

Hey neighbours,
are you using the long weekend to tackle that long-over due reno? Or do you have a project you'd love to do in your home or garden but don't know where to start?

The experts at Resene are offering to help answer all your painting and decorating questions. Whether it's how to choose the right type of paint to cover a stain, how to go about planning a mural, or how long you really need to spend on sanding down that woodwork, they're happy to help.

Send us your question at homed@stuff.co.nz or leave it in the comments and we'll put the best questions to the Resene team (please note: we may not be able to answer every single question). The answers will be published in an article on Stuff ahead of the long weekend.

If you don't want us to use your comment or name on Stuff, please mention that in your post.

He then bolted towards Bunnings car park where Nathan lost sight of him. A man pointed that Rafiki had run down Fairway Drive towards Golf View Road. There is a huge amount of gum trees where Rafiki may have hidden away. So Nathan has searched many days and nights..walking all the tracks.
Rafiki is dark brown of medium size. He has a white spotted chest and white spotted front paws and a white tip on his tail. He was wearing a blue collar with name tag.
They did put up a $1000 reward in the hopes that if someone had him he would be returned. This has not happened. There was a thought to be a sighting of Rafiki at the Homestead pub car park around a week after he went missing. And also a thought to be on the 11th of Feb at 10pm on Waipapa road.

Nathan lives in Waipapa so Rafiki could be trying to find his way home.

Rafiki is Nathan's Companion dog and he is desperate to get him home. If you have any information AT ALL please email Rachel Lyon at : missingk9response@yahoo.com

Any information would be very much appreciated - Thank you.
