Their home is close to the uncontrolled intersection on Porowini Ave - where there has been three serious accidents inside a five week period including a man on a mobility scooter who was hospitalised for a number of weeks. Te Papawai Community Pool is a 25-metre, six-lane pool located at the Bay of Islands Recreation Centre at Bay of Islands College, Kawakawa. The pool is open to the general public seven days a week (Monday to Friday 6am-7:30pm and Saturday/Sunday 8am-2pm). Please phone the pool on (09) 404 0127 before visiting, because it is sometimes used by swimming clubs.
