We are trying to find the worst littered beach in our community. What beach in your area is badly littered? What is the most common piece of rubbish you are finding? In particular, Do you know of a beach with a bad problem with sharp broken glass or other dangerous litter? Do you worry about yourself or your dog cutting your feet? Have you had to complain to council about all of the rubbish on beaches?
Help us with our quest to raise awareness of this issue. Thanks very much!

National Volunteer Week (17-23 of June 2018)
celebrates the 1.2 million Kiwis who are volunteering their time and skills to our communities every year.
The theme this year is Volunteers, The Heart of our Community – By many, the work will be completed, Mā tini, mā mano, ka rapa te whai.
We think this captures the essence of what volunteering is about. This is a time to acknowledge how volunteering efforts contribute to and enrich all communities within Aotearoa.

"We have seen so many hidden gems of New Zealand that we would never have seen if we were still living in a house," says Lynette.
Does the idea of selling up to make a big life change appeal to you? What changes would you like to make?

Thought I’d share a neat moment walking along Vipond Road this afternoon that I saw a large Kaka being very friendly in a yellow bottle brush tree until the Tuis scared it off, saw this bird not once but twice today. What a stunning looking bird and didn’t seem too scared as I was able to view it up close.
Not sure if this is regular in Stanmore Bay as we have just moved here to Vipond Road but awesome moment to view this large bird up close all the same
Cheers
