A while later another one came to join it. I took a couple of pictures that are a bit hazy but after some research I think it was a Lion's Mane Jellyfish that has stinging tentacles. This is just a warning to watch out for these if you are swimming in Matakatia, Little Manly, Te Haruhi/Shakespear Park area.
