I found this Mitsubishi key on a ring this morning on the Tarapiroe trail (Northside of the Ashley River.) A bit battered but looks like it will still work. It has a very distinctive Madonna and Child emblem attached to the ring

I've read through the developer's proposed plan, the resource consent application, comments on various social media sites, a disturbing letter from the developer to the Council's chief exec and talked with a few folk.
To put it really, really bluntly "WTF"! This proposal is getting ramrodded up our collective arses, like it or not - it's non-notified.
The proposal contravenes the rules set down by the WDC governing development standards. Consultants have been brought in to 'justify' the non-compliance. Even the Fire Dept had their objections over-ruled - so much for our Health and Safety, eh?
Now the resource consent is heading straight to a Commissioner (9.30 am on Monday) for approval - because the WDC must be a bit concerned about future community backlash (no kidding! Butt covering time, lol).
Get used to the idea people - we're getting a Truck Stop, because the rest of the plan is non-binding and not commercially viable anyway (it's a 100kph trunk road, no pedestrian access from Millfield Estate, and we're too low a population density anyway - shops struggle even in towns!

If you are near the coast, remember LONG OR STRONG: GET GONE
If you feel an earthquake that lasts for more than a minute or makes it hard to stand up, don’t wait for an official tsunami warning. Move immediately to the nearest high ground or as far inland as you can. Walk or bike if you can. Stay there until you get the all clear.
