Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter Trust
I would like to nominate the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter Trust who in 2016 flew 532 missions throughout the top of the South Island. The service is 70% funded by the community and offers a free dedicated rescue helicopter service, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I would like to nominate Whangaroa Community Trust to assist in purchasing paint to create a mural to brighten up and prevent graffiti on the Kaeo amenities block that is next to the children's playground. We patrol schools, parks and areas where the public frequently visit in Christchurch, helping to keep the public safe from crime. We are expanding our reach and our fleet of vehicles because we have the opportunity to run a lot more activities that help support the well being of the whole community. I have spoken to the lad that delivers the paper and asked him not to include any junk mail with the paper, (3 times), I have discussed this matter at the office of the paper and was told it would be addressed. I still get junk mail with my paper and I want it stopped. There is a notice on our letter box saying NO JUNK MAIL PLEASE but it is ignored by the delivery person. I enjoy reading the local community paper so I do not want to cancel it. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Wellington North Community Patrol
Our purpose is to empower communities to prevent crime and create safer environments through the utilisation of trained and equipped volunteer patrols. In the November storms last year, we were on the road checking slips, directing traffic and clearing debris. The patrol needs funds to maintain its patrol vehicle - including ongoing petrol costs. Patrol members are also required to wear high-viz vests and currently we do not have sufficient on hand to allocate to each of our patrollers. VOTE NOW!
