MetService has issued heavy snow warnings for much of Canterbury and Marlborough, and parts of Central Otago, from Tuesday evening until Wednesday afternoon, advising that snow will fall as low as 200 metres causing problems for travellers and farmers.
Below 200m, sleet and heavy rain may also be a problem for Christchurch and parts of Banks Peninsula on Wednesday morning.

Flexible barriers in the middle of the road, new roundabouts, traffic lights at a school crossing and changes to speed limits are among the ideas proposed to make the high-risk stretch of State Highway 1 in North Canterbury safer.

Great first float.
This float has been awesome. As it is wide, horses are very comfortable in it. I've had a couple of horses in (not at the same time ;-)) who were scrambling in their double floats. They floated absolutely perfectly in this as they can spread their legs wide and also stand at a bit of an angle. See pics of my 16.1hh wide boy in it.
It isn't braked as it is a single and doesn't have to be although it wouldn't take much to fit brakes.
It is solid and good to tow.
Non slip removable mats and a non slip surface to the ramp.
There is some surface rust (pictured) but this is only surface.
Will come with new warrant and it is registered.
Yet more ADVANTAGES: It doesn't look fancy so I never worried about anyone stealing it ;-) despite this it is a dependable, safe float which so comfortable even my cat likes to snooze in it (The cat does not come with it).
Only selling due to upgrade to double.

You don't just get given a disability parking permit willy nilly, there is a process you have to go through and you have to pay for them. Many times there have been heaps of empty parks all around and yet they park in the disability parks.
What gives them the right?
I have the Disability app on my phone and report them when i see them doing it.
These are just 2 of the many who do it, the yellow and red one is a repeat offender, i have had a few run ins with him

North Canterbury commuters tired of driving to work in the city may soon be able to ditch their cars in favour of a bike.
The Waimakariri District Council is seeking feedback on a proposed new cycle route, which would provide a safe and easy way for people to bike to and from Christchurch.

Under contract law, parking companies can only claim for "the actual and reasonable costs they incurred". Charging $65 for a short overstay in an empty carpark is as far from reasonable as you can get.
