Suzuki Guitar Lessons
I am a graduate of Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music, having completed my Bachelor of Music (First Class Honours) in Classical Guitar. I grew up surrounded by music and I am passionate about sharing my love for guitar. My lessons cater to each child and focus on encouragement, enjoyment and ensuring progress at a pace which is suited to each student’s development.
I am a registered guitar teacher through the New Zealand Suzuki Institute and I am determined to bring Suzuki Method guitar back to Wellington and for it to flourish in the community once more.
“Character first, Ability second” – Shinichi Suzuki
Royden’s Suzuki Guitar Studio follows the pedagogy of Dr Shinichi Suzuki, providing a nurturing environment that develops the whole child, through music. Suzuki discovered that all Japanese children are able to speak Japanese with relative ease. By creating a respectful and nurturing environment, any range of ability, discipline, and beauty within every child, can be cultivated to ultimately improve the human condition, whether it be language acquisition or learning to play an instrument.
“Where love is deep, much can be accomplished” – Shinichi Suzuki

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
