Time spent in respite care can range from a single night to a few weeks. It provides a welcome break and peace of mind knowing that your loved one will receive round-the-clock care from friendly, experienced care teams.

May Kitchen knows how important it is to provide carers with a break. After visiting her husband Stuart in respite care at a Ryman village, she was tempted to move in herself! “If it was me, I think I would enjoy it because it’s just so beautiful and the food is good.”

Ryman villages provide warm and welcoming communities. Where residents can enjoy activities and outings while forming friendships along the way.

Hi there

Blue Ocean Yoga will be having a guest instructor to lead our classes this weekend - Please welcome Freda Wells

Freda first experienced yoga at the age of 18 in an old church in Belgium and has continued her personal practice ever since! This year, she completed her 200-hour yoga certification with Nico Luce and has begun her journey as an instructor. Freda loves yoga for many reasons - it is a powerful tool and always at our fingertips (literally). It brings calm, balance, strength, mobility, and clarity to body and mind - and a lifetime of learning. She's excited to share her love of yoga and help her students feel great!

We will have our 60 min yoga class at the Aro Valley Community Center at 9 am. Due to the forecast weather, have decided to cancel the Brooklyn 10.30 am class outside on this occasion. Will be returning next week for both classes at our regular times.

Classes will be held Saturday mornings for the following dates listed below:

2019 Schedule (2020 Schedule to be posted soon)

7, 14 and 21 December (Christmas break, returning 11 January 2020)

(Please note: no class on 7 December in Brooklyn due to the Brooklyn Community Market that has been scheduled. Also, due to the scheduled weather forecast, have decided to cancel this class outside. Option to join Aro Valley class @ 9am).

Parking available at the Brooklyn Community center (car park).

All levels welcome/drop in. Please bring your mat!

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me directly or call.

Look forward to seeing all of you there in the coming weeks as we finish out the year!

Kind regards

Jenn

The western end of Dixon St (from the intersection at Willis St) until MacDonald Cres is closed until further notice. Access to MacDonald Cres via The Terrace is still available.

As part of our works to repair the wastewater leak, our team came across a collapsed section of pipe which requires urgent repair. This resulted in immediate road closure, meaning we couldn't advise the public earlier.

As a part of this urgent work, a pumping truck will be on site. We will aim to keep noise down, however we expect the truck to run until 7pm.

We are working with affected residents and businesses to keep them updated on any increased noise.

We will provide an update tomorrow on the status of the road closure.
