"North Island saddleback/ tīeke (Philesturnus rufusater) at Bushy Park (Whanganui) on 29 September. They are very quick like tui, but they tend to spend most of their time on the dark forest floor or in the lower canopy, so can be tricky to photograph in good light. Bird #67 in 2023 (slowly chugging my way towards 100 species photographed in 2023)."

If the weather is really good we may open for everyone in the afternoon in which case I'll post here and on my Fb page Carolyn Campbell Garden Design and Grooming. The tulips are truly spectacular this year so please come along to 34 St Johns Tce, Tawa, on Sunday 10.30 to 3.30. Entry by donation please. (suggested $5 to $10 per adult. Children free). This will help us buy the tulip bulbs for next year so we can put on another display to share with you all. Part of the proceeds will also be donated to the Wellington Hospital Eye Clinic. Thank you
