"Although you can't tell they are sisters and they are now 13 years old and will be 14 this coming January. I brought them back from Australia with me when I came home to New Zealand. They are by my side every day. They love people, walks and treats. They were used to walking every day on the beach in Adelaide but here in Avalon the beach is too far away for us to walk to."
Remember if you want your pet featured on Neighbourly, email us on yourpet@dompost.co.nz with a recent photo. Please remember to say which suburb you live in.

WIAL have issued a notice advising us that the regular Aus-NZ flight schedule is about to resume as of Monday 23rd May. Below is an excerpt from their notice and a full copy is attached if you wish to view it:

As airlines have been able to put schedules back in place, we are once again preparing our international terminal for increasingly regular flights in and out of Australia. It’s wonderful to be able to welcome back our dear friends and whānau from across the ditch.
From Monday 23 May 2022, we anticipate a familiar schedule of flights departing for Australia from 6am and the last arrivals landing before the 1am curfew. As locals and neighbours we know you are used to this flight pattern, but as it has been some time, it may take us all a wee while to settle back into the normal pattern.
While the airport receives very few noise complaints, we are aware it has been a while since we have had a regular flight schedule and we appreciate it may take residents some time to readjust to international flights operating regularly again. We expect that as aircraft patterns settle back to a normal pattern, it will soon feel normal again for you too.
For queries relating to airport noise, please contact us via email:
airnoise@wellingtonairport.co.nz
or call us on 0508 AIRNOISE (0508 247 664)

(Some of us actually NEED our cars because of mobility issues.) The new bike lane is on Riddiford St and blocking off The Acupuncture Clinic, The blood testing centre, the Cancer Society, Ronald McDonald house, the best florist which has been there for almost 30 years as well as a number of other businesses which have been there a very long time and have survived Covid only for the council to come along and destroy them. This area is opposite the hospital for people with appointments or visiting. i know the hospital has underground parking but they also charge an arm and a leg for parking there. I saw no advertising taht this was happening and believed there was little or no consultation. But that's the way they work isn't it to get their bike lanes in. For a minority of the population the majority has to be put to extreme disadvantage and possible loose their businesses.
