Hi everybody,
last week I received a “Parking Breach Notice” of $65 (!) on the parking area opposite the Porirua Library on 19 Parumoana Street (“Harvey Norman”). The area is huge and mostly empty and very tempting. For many years I have parked there to nip into the library, and it was never an issue.
But obviously the rules have changed all of a sudden, and only customers of Harvey Norman are allowed to park there.

So be aware if you want to visit Pataka, the café, or the Porirua library!

It is very misleading that there is a walkway between Pataka and the car park, as this implies parking is permitted for that purpose (see attached pictures). But the Porirua City Council tells me you have to use the car park at the swimming pool now.
