Lions Clubs International Peace Poster Contest
Have you seen the local entries to the Lions Clubs International annual Peace Poster Contest?
They are all displayed in the windows of the Karori Library - thanks to the Library staff for allowing us to provide a colourful - and very meaningful display. This year's contest theme is "Peace through Service" - a theme very close to the hearts of all Lions Club members whose motto is "We Serve".
Congratulations to all the entrants, and especially to Jorja from Makara Model School, our local winner!!!
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
Do you think this ban is reasonable?
