Hi neighbors! Just wondering if anyone knows of any charities in Wellington looking specifically for donations of evening dresses? For example, a charity helping college students attend balls more cost effectively, etc. Thanks very much for your help!

I have had a lot of changes happening in my life recently and it has understandably left me feeling a bit nervous and shy. I can get quite nervous in new situations and when meeting new people, but once I am given time to settle in, and you earn my trust, I know I will settle right into the family. Due to my shyness, I will be best in an adult only home where it is quiet, as loud and sudden noises and movements can sometimes worry me. I would also enjoy going home where one of my humans has had experience with shy and timid cats before. I would also enjoy if my humans were around for some or most parts of the day, so that we can keep each other company. ?

We have done a lot of work in our garden this year, including planting over 2000 tulips bulbs. The earliest tulips have been out for a couple of weeks now but there are many more to come so we would like to invite you to come and enjoy their beautiful shapes and colours. 2000 is a lot of bulbs for one person to plant but that amount disappears when spread around the garden and in pots. As a comparison the botanic gardens team plant 30000 bulbs each year. Our displays have been carefully colour coordinated to the themed garden rooms they are planted in and several different varieties and forms have been used. Our aim is to show how you can enjoy tulips in your own suburban sized plot and by using different varieties extend the flowering season for up to 5 or 6 weeks. Our garden is on a terraced slope arranged into a series of garden rooms which include topiary, asian zen, subtropical jungle, English border, Parisian courtyard and a mini meadow. We were very privileged to have our garden featured in the June 2022 issue of the NZ Gardener.
Entry is by donation and all proceeds go towards the cost of next years bulbs so we can continue to share the joys of tulips with you. Without your help the scale of our bulb planting would not be possible so thank you for your generosity.
We hope the weather will be a lot kinder than it has been these last few weeks and we will be able to welcome you on one of our open days.
