I am an experienced dog and cat lover who owns my very own animals (my dog and two cats made the long trip with us to NZ from SA). In South Africa I own and ran a very successful animal welfare who specializes in Power breeds so I am confident with any breed of dog. We have over 40 Pitbull’s in our care. Outside of my welfare work at Pit Pals, I worked for other welfare’s previously (one with over 450 dogs), I have walked many many dogs in my time working in welfare and would love to be able to offer my services here. I am currently running a launch special. Book a 30 min dog walk for $25 and I’ll keep your dog out for an hour at no additional charge. I am happy to walk your dog on leash or if your dog has a good recall, your dog and I can work on going on off leash adventures too. All in all I just love animals and spending my time with them.

I also offer in pet care for cats, dogs, kittens and puppies. I can go to your home and give them extra cuddles, refresh food and water bowls and clean up any oopsies they might have made in the house. I charge $25 for a half hour home visit, if you want me to go twice in one day it’s $45 and for three visits of each 30 mins long I charge $60.

I also offer pet transportation (dogs are secured in a harness with seatbelt attached and cats in cleaned and disinfected cat carriers). If you need your dog or cat dropped at the vet for an operation or need me to hang around while your furry friend gets their annual vaccinations. I can do that too.

Sorry for the very long post 😁. You can call or text on 02108590740 or email me on allaboutpets@xtra.co.nz. I have attached a few pics of me with some of the dogs I have spent time with.

This crew gave up their weekend, working throughout the day on both Saturday and Sunday to repair these bursts as quickly as possible. Given the location, this repair was made a little more difficult than usual, so we’d like to thank the residents of Wilton for their patience and understanding throughout the weekend.

Another thanks to the guys out in the field who got these bursts sorted, and also to Wellington City Council for keeping residents updated on social media.

5.30pm - 8.00pm
National Library Foyer, corner Molesworth and Aitkens Streets, Thorndon.

In 1975 Marilyn Waring was elected to the New Zealand Parliament as the MP for Raglan.
Aged just 23 and only the fifteenth woman to enter Parliament, she served through the turbulent years of Muldoon’s government. During her time in Parliament she was chair of the Public Expenditure Committee, before crossing the floor to support nuclear-free legislation which ultimately led to the fall of the National government.

The Political Years is an autobiographical account of her time at the forefront of male-dominated public life and sits alongside Marilyn’s other books, including Counting for Nothing and Still Counting.

The talk will be chaired by Dr Jess Berentson-Shaw and is part of the BWB Talks series.

About the speaker
In the years since she retired from Parliament in 1984, Marilyn Waring has published numerous books as well as continuing to contribute to the public service through university fellowships around the world, development in consultancy for Asia and the Pacific, contributions to boards and councils in New Zealand as well as her work in academia.

In 2008, she was awarded a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit (CNZM) for services to women and economics, and in 2011 she received an Honorary Doctor of Letters from Glasgow Caledonia University for research in international feminism and female human rights.

Marilyn Waring is, today, a Professor of Public Policy at Auckland University of Technology.

Dr Jess Berentson-Shaw is a New Zealand researcher and communicator, and good science advocate. She is co-director of think-and-do tank The Workshop, and a senior research associate at the Public Policy Institute at the University of Auckland.

In 2018, she published BWB Text A Matter of Fact: Talking Truth in a Post-Truth World.

The $1 coin is for size reference, these habaneros are on average 4x to 5x bigger than normal chillis and are really hot so you only need to cut up a small portion into food. The rest can be frozen until needed.

$1 each or 3 for $2.
