Greytown's spreading Festive cheer all through July with new Festival
Christmas is coming early to Greytown; and in even better news, it is going to stick around. Having a special celebration in July this year is something Greytown Village thought everyone would enjoy. And a mid-winter festival with lights, decorations and special events that emulate a Northern Hemisphere Christmas is perfect.
Most Main Street businesses will light up their buildings with some putting on a special light show each evening. They'll be a giant Christmas Tree outside the Town Hall and beautiful window displays and wreaths and garlands adorning buildings. Will Santa show up in Greytown? You may see him for photos at the Santa Cave near the Town Hall on the weekends.Special accommodation packages and restaurant menus are being planned, in-store promotions will be in place across shops, and entertainment and street events for the weekends. Only an hour from Wellington - Christmas is just around the corner this year! Check out all the details of the festive family fun, decorated homes, lights, Christmas treats and menus, top shopping offers and much more on the website.
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
