"Yesterday I was doing my usual stalking of the backyard birds with my camera behind my washing line as they were flying in for their daily feed of the seed that I had just thrown on the lawn and wondered why they just suddenly all flew off in all directions! What had scared them off was the sight of this magnificent but rotound feline lurking quite near by.
She is very much a Jeckyll and Hyde character, very friendly when she is tucked up with me at night and just loves having her belly rubbed. But outside she runs away when approached and totally disappears when friends or family drop in for a coffee!"
We wouldn’t change her for the world!Remember if you want your pet featured on Neighbourly, email us on yourpet@dompost.co.nz with a recent photo. Please remember to say which suburb you live in.

I have had many cafe exhibitions but now I'm wanting a permanent space to hang my work and rotate it as it sells. I'm thinking outside the box and wonder if there are retailers who would love to have beautiful paintings enhancing their environment....possibly an antiques shop, a high end fashion store, a collectibles store, a library or another space that I haven't thought of....I believe that I'm a golden opportunity regarding my ability to produce high quality paintings...but I need an outlet.....if you have a store and/or would like to talk to me about your idea please respond below. Please see my attached images, I'm a saleable artist. Thank-you, Niki. www.nikiphillipsart.co.nz...

We are pleased to invite you to come and view this DVD….. Seatoun Village Hall, Wednesday 20th October, 7.30pm.
Please log in with your Covid Ap, or record your presence in the log provided, wear your mask, and seating will be spaced.

I have decided to run the Auckland Marathon on my birthday next year. While I enjoy running, I have decided that this time I am also running for a good cause by helping to raise money for the Mental Health Foundation.
While I know that it's been tough for a lot of people this year, the foundation does excellent work and really does need our help. If you could take a moment and donate the cost of a cup of coffee, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks, Heaps

Signing up only takes 2 minutes and when you do, you’ll be entered to win a personal emergency grab bag or civil defence wheelie bin kit from NZ Civil Defence.
ShakeOut takes place around the world to remind people of the right action to take during an earthquake:
DROP - down on your hands and knees. This protects you from falling but lets you move if you need to.
COVER - your head and neck (or entire body if possible) under a sturdy table or desk (if it is within a few steps of you). If there is no shelter nearby, cover your head and neck with your arms and hands.
HOLD - on to your shelter (or your position to protect your head and neck) until the shaking stops. If the shaking shifts your shelter around, move with it.
Head to www.shakeout.govt.nz... to sign up today and get involved!
