Of the 22 Wellington cafes, restaurants, libraries and shops with manual contact tracing (pen and paper) registers visited yesterday by Stuff, none had safeguards in place to protect private information.

The Office of the Privacy Commissioner says businesses should not be allowing customers to see other peoples’ information, ensuring reasonable safeguards are in place to prevent loss, misuse or disclosure of personal information collected.
