Fares, including the handling of cash, were temporarily suspended to support the Government’s public health response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Metlink has been working very closely with the Government on the safest and fairest time to reintroduce full fares to passengers across the region.
Advice from the Ministry of Health has confirmed it is safe to handle cash, provided this is done responsibly. Good hand hygiene remains essential, with passengers and staff continuing to wash or sanitise their hands as soon as they can during, before and after travel. The temporary road restrictions between Robertson Street and Dennis Street are expected to remain in place for a few more weeks. The next step for this part of the project is to finish transferring properties to the newer watermain and tidying up the old pipework, and to do this we will need to schedule some planned water outages, and we will notify residents at least 24 hours before these take place via letter drops, and on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
Our crews have also completed the ground investigations for Stage 3 and will soon have completed the overall design. Work is expected to begin on this in September/October.
We thank residents for their patience while our crews do this work.

Trees That Count are an environmental charity on a mission to plant millions more native trees throughout New Zealand. Trees That Count runs the country’s only marketplace which provides a place for anyone to fund or gift native trees. This support is matched with planters throughout the country who are restoring, and growing, precious wildlife corridors or pockets of native forest, turning small projects into mighty ones.

Whatsmyhousevalue.co.nz is a free website providing estimates through real estate agents. Algorithms don’t see value in important things such as views, parking, extra garaging, gardens, etc. Emotional buyers will bring you more money. An experienced agent can help identify these and provide you with a written current market appraisal (CMA) based on your individual property.
