Miramar North School is a fabulous place filled with happy children who love learning and playing together, and amazing, supportive teachers. Our playground, on the other hand, needs a bit of TLC.

While our school's education practices continue to evolve, our playground has been left back in the '80s (which is apparently the 'olden days' according to our kids). It's time to give it some love and create an environment that inspires our kids to climb, challenge themselves, get fit, and have fun together in the outdoors.

The whole community is set to benefit from our Playground Upgrade but we need a bit of support to get the project off the ground.

UPDATE: Thanks to the support of our community we have bought our first piece of equipment but we still need help to fund its installation and ensure it's safe and sound for the kids to play on (e.g. paying for the wood chip that sits underneath the equipment, building the surrounding retainer for wood chip - this crucial part of the project is still very expensive even with discounts and we need to source around $3000). Every dollar (and cent) counts.

Hi neighbours,

Are you keen to try out Lime scooters in your city? Because Wellington is next on the list to receive them - potentially just in time for summer!

The scooters have already been launched in Auckland and Christchurch, and now Lime are in talks with Wellington City Council.

Some people are in support of the scooters, others have found a way to make extra pocket money from them, and even singer Taylor Swift was apparently spotted on one in Auckland recently. But the scooters have also caused controversy as one model has already been recalled.

So what are your thoughts on the scooters? Do think they'd be a great way to zip along the Wellington streets? Or are they an accident waiting to happen? Share your thoughts with us in the replies below!
