This 75min webinar is on how stress affects people with diabetes, focusing on tips and techniques on how to reduce stress in your life through mindfulness and self compassion. Diabetes Wellington is pleased to have health psychologist Dr Anna Friis, PhD speak on this important topic. Anna is a certified Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) teacher and a psychologist. She specialises in mindfulness and compassion-based therapy.

As part of our new Waste Bylaw, these items are no longer accepted in the landfill. Instead you can drop them off at the recycling and composting services on site:

This one hour talk on self-management is suitable for people who have had Type 2 diabetes for some time and would like a refresher and to be updated on the latest information on how to manage their condition. It is also suitable for people who are newly diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. It will cover topics such as; Latest research and medication available to treat Type 2 diabetes. The latest research and advice on exercise and testing. The difference between Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. This will be done in a friendly supportive environment with a nurse educator from the Hutt Valley DHB. Cost: $5 for members and $10 for non members. All welcome! It's probably the end of the breeding season as well. I was interested to read that only the males do the summer warbling, apparently the females only have a short chirp call. Don't ask me why this turkey is hanging upside down - there's always one."
