We are looking into the idea of employing a casual / part-time licensed builder to help us complete our residential building projects. We are extremely busy and our small team of two is in need of another builder.
At the moment we are just scoping the level of interest. The building industry is desperate for both high quality builders and apprentices, so we know finding someone is going to be a tough ask.
Brief Outline:
- currently a small team of two. 1 licensed builder and apprentice.
- renovations, alterations, additions, new builds.
- extremely fussy and do everything to the highest standard achievable. Cutting corners or lazy work ethic does not exist in our team.
- we need a builder with the same level of perfectionism, but who is also methodical and efficient.
- we would prefer you to have project management experience, but not essential.
- If you love building to the best of your abilities, maintaining long lasting positive relationships with clients, driven, hard working and a professional team leader, we'd love to hear from you.
Please Note: We are initially looking for someone who is looking for part-time or casual work. If employed there may be opportunities to increase hours if so desired.

History of Classical Chinese language and it's plight in modern Chinese world
For several millennia, until the 1920s, Classical Chinese (also called Literary Chinese) was the sole accepted language of written communication throughout North Asia. It was the language of government and authority, but it was also the language of the great Chinese thinkers and poets.
Classical Chinese was, in other words, the language in which the foundations of the world’s longest continuous civilisation were first articulated.
This talk, the third event in celebration of Chinese Language Week, will consider aspects of the history of this language and its plight in the modern Chinese world.
About the speaker
Duncan Campbell has taught Chinese language, literature, and aspects of Chinese history at universities in New Zealand and Australia.
Between 2015-16, he was the Curator of the Chinese Garden at the Huntington Library, USA. His research concentrates on the literary and material culture of late imperial China
