DCM set up a dental service in 2016 and are now providing emergency dental treatment to some 180 people each year. People who are homeless are 12 times more likely than individuals with stable housing to have dental problems and dental health can make a huge difference to health and wellbeing
All money raised goes direct to DCM to provide more dental services for homeless and vulnerable Wellingtonians.

The tunnel is closed and traffic is backing up after the morning rush-hour crash. Police said the road would l be closed for some time.
The New Zealand Transport Agency is advising motorists to take alternative routes wherever possible as congestion was heavy throughout the city and motorway. Read more here.

Wellingtonians driving to the city on the weekend will soon have to pay up to $5:00 for two hours’ parking in what were formerly free parking spaces. A charge of $2:50 per hour will be applied in all areas that currently have a … View moreWellingtonians driving to the city on the weekend will soon have to pay up to $5:00 for two hours’ parking in what were formerly free parking spaces. Charges for coupon parking and permits will also be increased. A charge of $2:50 per hour will be applied in all areas that currently have a weekday rate of $3:00 or more.
Daily public parking coupons will now cost $7:50, an increase of a dollar, with an increase of $15 from the current $120:00 for monthly coupons, and a range of increases for trade coupons. A 12-month resident parking permit will increase from $115:00 to $126:50, and there are also increases for exemption, guesthouse and loading permits. A full-day weekend central city trade coupon will be introduced at a rate of $22:50.
The decision aims to encourage higher turnover of parking spaces on weekends, allowing more people to access the city, and keeping rates affordable. It will transfer the cost of maintaining city centre amenities from local businesses currently paying the Downtown Levy to users of parking spaces.

Māori theatre photographs and ephemera spanning 1960s to the 2000s
Images of a young Jermaine Clement, Taika (Cohen), Rachel House and Cliff Curtis feature among a selection of photographs and theatre ephemera in a display of Māori theatre productions and practitioners. The material spanning the 1960s to the 2000s will screen in various locations across the library to celebrate New Zealand’s inaugural Theatre Month.
Originally compiled for the 2015 National Māori Theatre Hui
From the Photographic Archive and Ephemera Collections of the Alexander Turnbull Library these photographs and theatre posters were originally compiled for the 2015 National Māori Theatre Hui. Primarily from the Evening Post and Dominion Collections the selection features many of New Zealand’s most celebrated theatre practitioners; Inia te wiata, Elizabeth Murchie, Briar Grace-Smith, George Henare, the Māori Theatre Trust, Taki Rua productions, Don Selwyn, Rowley Habib, Nancy Brunning and Jim Moriarty.
More photos, recordings and oral history in the collections
The display features a very small selection from the Turnbull Library’s Photographic Archive which holds around five million prints, negatives, transparencies and other photographic formats.
The Library also has an Oral History and Sound Collection and there are more than 10,000 recordings — including iwi and hapū oral histories.
