Now Jazz has been recognised for his dedication to the community by being named the country’s National Winner in the Prospa Local Business Hero Awards. The building, affectionately called "Arnold", is a landmark of Tirangi Rd and was decommissioned as a control tower in 2018.
The tower, in Rongotai, went up for sale last October and was bought by Wellington Airport. While the sale price was not disclosed, Stuff understands the airport paid about $1.2 million.
