We are a small family (me, female aged 43, twin daughters aged 10, one small non-shedding dog and a large fluffy cat). I'm a piano teacher so sometimes the lounge is occupied (Sundays, Monday afternoon/evening, Thursday afternoon) but there are two living areas - the kitchen/dining room is large and has a couch. Happy to share a meal once a week (I cook once, you cook once) or keep things separate. We're 2 minutes' walk from the no. 1 bus stop, 10 minutes' walk from the supermarket, butcher's cafes restaurants etc. and 20 minutes' walk from the beach. The house is pretty sunny with a garden area. The room available is a single - 3 metres x 2.75 metres - plenty of room for a single bed, chest of drawers and wardrobe, would fit a double bed but there'd be less room for furniture. $200 pw plus expenses. A later move-in date is also fine, if you know someone looking please pass on our info! Jess: 0204537777

Is taking your shoes off in someone's home the right and hygienic thing to do, or do you see being asked to remove your shoes as a total imposition?
It's one of many home dilemmas we come across on Homed, along with toilet paper over or under? cutlery up or down in the dishwasher? top sheet or no top sheet?, to name a few. Read more about the arguments for each and see how many people agree with you, here.

We have been told - hopefully accurately - that since the WCC contractors hand sort the recycled glass into clear, green & brown glass bins into the back of the individual glass bins on the trucks, then emptied into separated glass type rail wagons and taken to the glass factory in Auckland, these are not going to the landfill. This is the latest WCC recycling fact sheet available....wellington.govt.nz...

Have a lonely driveway or melancholy patch of lawn in Wellington that's looking for company over the long winter nights?
Look no further! We're a Kiwi/Irish yopro couple who live in our van, Jean-Claude (a Ford Transit Jumbo). We're looking for somewhere flat in central Wellington to park him, and live in him primarily during the week - most weekends will be for adventuring.
We are fully self-contained, we will just need to borrow your hose from time to time to fill up our water tank. Aside from that, you will hardly even know we're there (unless you want to, in which case come over for a yarn and a cuppa!)
We're looking to pay you $100 per week, in cash or by bank deposit, and happy to keep the arrangement fairly flexible.
If this sounds like you, or someone you know then please reach out! Alicia 027 228 2144

We work within your budget to ensure your weeds stay under control, your plants grow only where they’re allowed to, and take care of anything else in your garden that needs taking care of.
