Our skies have been coloured by smoke blown over from the Australian bushfires, meanwhile Wellingtonians are just stoked if they get to see the sun.

New bus services set to go

The Blenheim to Renwick service and a new Blenheim commuter service will provide Marlburians with greater transport options and complement the existing Blenheim to Picton and Blenheim bus services.

Two new Marlborough bus services begin running on Monday 17 February.

The Blenheim to Renwick service and a new Blenheim commuter service will provide Marlburians with greater transport options and complement the existing Blenheim to Picton and Blenheim bus services.

The Blenheim to Renwick service will operate from Monday to Saturday, and will run four circuits on week days and two circuits on a Saturday.

The new Blenheim commuter service will operate Monday to Friday and will provide two simultaneous services to Southern Blenheim. Keep an eye out on Council’s website from Wednesday 12 February for timetables and bus stop locations.

The Blenheim to Renwick service would run four times on weekdays, two times on Saturdays, but not on Sundays. It would start and end at Blenheim Countdown, stopping at public favourites, such as the Westwood Ave PAK'nSAVE and the Marlborough Airport.

The story of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland and the waka that sailed here will take centre stage in January 2020 when the region celebrates its Māori heritage through the Tāmaki Herenga Waka Festival.

For the first time since its inaugural year in 2016, the Festival will feature both land and water performances that will go on into the night, as well as storytelling that captures the region’s rich waka history which shaped the Tāmaki Makaurau we know and love today.

Highlights include:
• Gates open 5.30pm
• Waka showcase
• A marketplace of kai and toi (art)
• A land stage for performances and storytelling (6pm – 9.30pm)
