Cyclone clean up about half way
The clearing of fallen trees and branches from Council's parks after Cyclone Cook still has two to three weeks to go. In some parks and reserves the damage has been so great that it is taking a team of nine four days to clean up. Our people plus contractors are working extended hours to get things back to normal and we ask for your patience as we battle through it. Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
