The grades are helpful to compare different candidates within a council, but they suggest that we download the original answers and read them for ourselves to be fully informed.
Here is the scorecard for WDC candidates, and the original answers (in Excel spreadsheet format) can be found here.
Together with Policy Local and The Voting Climate we now have three online sources to learn about candidates' policies and views. Unfortunately not every candidate is present on each platform, so the picture is somewhat incomplete.

Depending on how old you are, you might remember taking a bottle to the shop and being able to get a small refund for it. Doing this has been proven to increase recycling rates, reduce litter and make sure our resources are used again and again.
If implemented, this scheme will be a significant step towards a circular economy.
Watch the announcement on Facebook and read about the scheme on the Beehive website.

Many millions of dollars of investment capital have been lost to other districts because the District Council is difficult to deal with. That means lost jobs and lost income for local families.

That's why we are supporting candidates who commit to changing the Council's culture to one that asks, "How can we make it happen?" instead of standing in the way.

To see which candidates have committed to positive change visit Better! Whangarei
