One of the greatest things about living and raising a family in North Canterbury is our amazing community.

From our schools, community and sports groups to our neighbours and friends, we're brilliant at stepping up, lending a hand and being part of a good old-fashioned neighbourhood.

So it was with great delight that I shared a coffee with the lovely Sally Lane from Compass FM last week.

We think Compass FM is doing a magnificent job in our community (and play some of my favourite music), so we're teaming up with the good folk on the airwaves. We'll be having regular chats about what you can expect to find in your paper in coming days, and sharing our - and your - stories with them.

Listen out for my somewhat dulcet tones on a Wednesday morning and tune in to keep on top of North Canterbury's latest news and events on Compass, 104.9FM.

– Shannon.
