We've picked up two bedraggled white pigeons on our road in the past two days. They are not injured, just wet, cold and hungry.
Does anyone know someone who has let some young ones out for a fly, and not made it home?

The plastic cover it totally useless. I phoned the Press but got voice prompts, no human voice to talk to, I was told to push another No for customer service but when I got there I gave up after so many " please hold, your call is important". I am convinced that customer service from Fairfax Media is a total joke. I was told yesterday that Allied Press based in Dunedin is a far better company as it is not a big conglomerate and is owned by a local. YES, that is a true comment, from my own personal experience. I have often said that the bigger the company the poorer the service.

I do sympathise with those who have had this happen to them and have been robbed of their possessions. BUT, I notice a very large percentage of properties have very high fences all around them for privacy. This is ideal for criminals as they are free from view in all directions to do your house / property over without being seen or disturbed. Think about it. Also a property surrounded by high plant growth/ hedges etc. The corner shops / dairies are the same with the windows fully covered with posters / advertising or painted over. There are very few people who will stand and just look at a property unless they are admiring a great garden presentation. If you feel the need to be fully hidden from view then have a top quality security system / cameras installed and photograph all your valuable possessions and record serial numbers. REMEMBER we are all open to be abused in some way and it is up to us all to take steps to prevent it.
