Enterprise North Canterbury (ENC) surveyed 56 businesses and retailers across the region, including 19 from Rangiora, about business confidence, finances, and employment trends.

About 44 per cent of respondents said their profitability had dropped 20 per cent compared to the same time last year, which ENC business support manager Miles Dalton said he was believed was caused by increased operational costs.
