Nicole Thornton, 16, has helped launch a campaign to get businesses to provide toilet access to people with Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. Now, Hutt Valley business leaders have backed the initiative.
On Tuesday, the Upper Hutt City Council and the Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce launched a campaign for better access to toilet facilities in Upper Hutt.
They are requesting that local businesses willing to allow IBD patients with toilet access prominently display a poster in their window stating that they honour the “I Can’t Wait Card”.
When you upgrade to fast and reliable fibre broadband, if you have a landline or alarm system you rely on, you’ll need to get them switched over as well. Between Chorus and your providers – we’ll take care of it all, with a heads-up from you!

We hope to have a Home Baking Table with items for sale, too. You'll find the MONTHLY FUNDRAISER CAFE inside the Community Centre, UHBC, corner Fergusson Drive and Milton Street, Trentham any time between 10am and midday. The talented Glenn Campbell will be singing and playing guitar while you enjoy morning tea.
Out in the car park, you'll find the CAR BOOT SALE to browse and snap up that bargain. To book a site for $10, phone 528-3454. ALL PROCEEDS from the Cafe and Car Boot Sale go to Circuit International's work in Myanmar to improve the lives of poor and disadvantaged people. Check out the website for details of their projects - it's very worthwhile work and was started by a New Zealand couple with big hearts!
