Petone Beach Rubbish

Cameron from Trentham

Hey everyone, after the terrible weather we have had lately Petone beach is covered in a huge amount of rubbish! Huge amounts of zip lock bags, and plastics, cans etc. I filled 3 plastic bags of rubbish, which didn't even put a dent in the amount of rubbish down there. I'd encourage anyone who walks the beach or takes there dog there to bring a bag and help collect the rubbish, and recycle what you can!

It's really bad now, in 20 years it will be way worse unless we be proactive about all the plastics. Think of future generations!

We’re Celebrating 5 Years of Singing!

The Major Minors Children’s Choir was formed in 2012 and we have been singing strong for the last five years so we want to celebrate!

As part of our celebration season, we would like to invite past members to join us in our celebration concert as they have all helped us become what we are today.

The concert will be at 2.30pm, Sunday 19th November 2017 at the Upper Hutt Baptist Church.

We would be able to send our lyrics/ YouTube links prior. We are happy for you to either attend the whole term and learn the full programme, or just learn 2-4 key songs and attend the last few rehearsals – that commitment level is up to you and we are happy to be flexible.

The practices for this concert will start on 27th August 2017.

Please RSVP your interest to hvkidschoir@gmail.com or give Joanne a call on 027 566 7672

We look forward to hearing from you!
And of course welcome new choir members too!

thanks

Joanne and Karen

Poor performance as usual, please make sure you have complaint forms at the counter, there were no complaint forms in the box so people can give feedback. Also make sure the sauna has the little red bucket filled with your solution to apply to the sauna rocks. It's always empty so I have to ask for it to be filled, this will also stop the people I see who apply there own.

Hi
the wonderful women in our Women's Support group are making art dolls in August. I hoped some of the crafters out there may have bits and pieces lying around that could be used to make hair. Textured / bobbly bits are especially great.

Give our top tip number 5 a go if you have a property to get sale ready!

5. Small changes

It might sound obvious, but make sure to fix anything broken. Doors that don’t shut properly, holes in walls, peeling wallpaper and leaking taps are just some of the things that can turn off buyers and are relatively easy to fix.

Consider changing the kitchen and bathroom handles. This is an inexpensive and easy way to modernise these key rooms. Also, fix any leaking taps and oil creaky hinges.
