The only reference that I have noted was in 'The Post' on Sat 3rd Feb. The article refers to the suggestion that a dam be built on the Whakatiki Stream. This is a no no in my book for the reasons in my attached notes on the subject. GWRC has bought land at Kaitoke for off storage lakes and has done nothing about building them. Be interested to see what others think.
Please read my attached comments. I also ask the question. Has GWRC sold the building in Wakefield St that was considered an earthquake risk?

I live next to a park, which is increasing in popularity capped with a growing population. Every day at least one child falls off a bike or scooter while riding along the footpath. And which area of their body is most likely at the receiving end - their knees of course.
There is pain, crying, tears, bruises and sometimes blood.
What to do as a preventative measure? Knee pads of course. The kind kids use for skate boarding.

My wife disagrees. Who would wear them? They get in the way if they want to visit the playground and wearing knee pads would interfere in riding a bike riding she says.
