I firmly believe there is nothing new under the sun. In 2012, following the Christchurch earthquakes, the then National government introduced "zero budgets" with a focus on "getting better value from public spending".
Sound familiar? We heard a lot about curbing public spending in the lead up to the last election. Unfortunately, the austerity measures haven't stopped there. As we come to the end of the government's anti-Labour 100 day rampage (arguably the biggest waste of public money I have seen in a long time), prices in the supermarket continue to rise, week on week, despite claims that inflation is easing.
(Well.... it might be, but greedflation is still rampant). We find we are in for more expense for car registration, road user charges have been introduced for electric vehicles and schools will be eating into their operating budgets (literally) to feed hungry children. A UN expert in the UK recently stated that austerity policies were directly linked to a rise in poverty. No surprises there either.

But isn't it ironic that, as a direct result of cancelling all road maintenance during the last round of RONS, the National government is now introducing a special dedicated "pot hole fund" Monty Python couldn't have done it better. Will we be shortly forced to eat hot gravel?

But all is not lost. Despite my Superannuation being cut by $30 this week, for no apparent reason, there's an outside chance I might get it back in the annual CPI adjustment (something the government is legislatively required to do fortunately) And apparently we are still in line for a tax cut sometime in the near future. When is it Tricola? We wait in hope.......

It's all about colour mixing and will be of particular interest to landscape painters and those who like to represent the greens of nature in their work. We will focus on creating palettes which work well for foreground, mid distance and distant greens. Green can be a difficult colour to get right in landscape work as is doesn’t ‘travel’ well from near to far. Some very far greens are scarcely green at all, with their saturation, value and hue changing as they recede into the distance. You will learn how to create greens that give this sense of aerial perspective. You will also learn how to create the brightest and cleanest colour mixes, greens in particular, from a Modern (Organic) colour palette.

The ability of your body to adapt to the stressors in your life is a direct representation of how healthy you are 🌱
If the combination of stressors you have (physical, emotional, or chemical) outweighs your ability to adapt, then it becomes incredibly difficult for your body to regulate, function and heal at its best ⚖️
When possible, give yourself time to let your body heal. Try adding these protocols to your daily wellness practices as a start!

✅ Restorative movement - 30 mins per day (walking, cycling, swimming, yoga) 🤸
✅ Get off screens, especially 30 minutes pre-sleep 📱😴
✅ Breathwork - deep inhale through the nose, hold for 3 seconds, long exhale, hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 20 times in the evening 👃😮‍💨

✉️ Put a hold on your mail delivery if you’re going away
✉️ Provide clear delivery instructions for couriers to leave a package safely hidden or secured within your property
✉️ Install security cameras and/or security camera messaging near your letterbox or front of property
✉️ Where practical, consider click and collect over delivery
✉️ Send parcels to a work address or ensuring you're home when they arrive
✉️ Contact Police (111 for immediate issues or 105 if it is after the fact) if you see people loitering around vehicles or looking into car windows
✉️ Engage in neighbourhood groups so more people can keep an eye out for suspicious activity

These tips are being shared after a 44-year-old woman will appear in Pukekohe District Court on 28 March charged with theft.
An alleged mail thief in the Pukekohe area has hand-delivered herself into Police, following assistance from the community.
Counties Manukau South Senior Sergeant MJ Riddle says Police were aware of locals discussing a mail theft on social media. A report was made to Police at the time in January and had included enough detail including CCTV footage and a vehicle of interest. Following Police enquiries, the woman has brought herself into the Pukekohe Police Station a few days later

“This is a great result for the community and a timely reminder to the public to continue reporting any thefts from letterboxes.”
Senior Sergeant Riddle says
“Our community should be able to receive parcels and mail without concern of interference but unfortunately there are people in our communities who take advantage of opportunities to commit thefts from mail boxes and front porches."

“We encourage anyone who has been the victim of dishonesty offending to report it as soon as possible,” she says."
