Bit of a random one, but I had a few large chunks of concrete to get rid of (stashed behind the shed of previous tenant or owner) and I'm wanting to do it sustainably if possible. It was presumably a path/walkway as its about 2 inches deep and square metre give or take. When we put in new drainage there will likely be some more tucked away and wanting removed
The worst case scenario is the tip - bad for planet and wallet
Is there somewhere out there I can recycle or repurpose it? I'm thinking Expol polystyrene-type collection or even someone with a jack hammer that wants to shrink it down to smaller chunks and use for infill or building up a stopbank?
Open to ideas and happy to drop off if within reasonable distance from Upper Hutt

Maori hunted the Moa into oblivion.

Moa were quite harmless flightless birds..
I see other races in other parts of the world had .made pets from otherwise otherwise lethal animals from crocodiles to elephants from snakes to lions from eagles to emus.
Perhaps we would have moa still with us today if Maori who had dogs as pets, had looked to tame some moa.

The Supreme Court is the latest in a long line-up to go really rogue. After years of being tampered with politically.
Of course would-be dictator, corrupt and criminal villain Trump and Trumpism has opened up a festering wound that is probably too deep now to successfully patch up.
NZ has not got the American system of democracy thank goodness and has often been internationally ranked first or in the top three as the world's most democratic and least corrupt country in the world.
But there is cuttings at the edges of our democracy not the least displayed by the current Government. Examples are breaking election-gaining promises and even in the one they kept - tax cuts - by borrowing more than the defeated Labour-Green Govt has to cement in the financial shortfall of the tax reduction, and by going further in cutting out thousands of jobs in the public sector which also impacts on the private sector.

The Hurricanes fell short a few metres shy of the finishing line. An inspired Chief's team and three forward passes - with two of them perhaps not so - cost us the Super Rugby Pacific grand final at a packed out Sky Stadium against the Blues.

The weekend was not the best thing happening for Wellington as the Pulse went down in extra time to the Tactics in Christchurch to give up the lead in the netball championship and the Saints move up the basketball championship ladder was halted by the Bulls - also after extra time.
Well in 2024 Wellington in the best regarded domestic and Pacific sport championships still has done and is still doing very well and overall is almost certainly the leading province in NZ sport for 2024.
The Phoenix team stretched their season in the A-League right through to the semi finals. Wellington Firebirds (men) won crickets prestigious 4-day Plunket Shield for the 2023-24 season and the Wellington Blaze (women) won the Hallyburton Johnstone Shield for one-day cricket for yet another season.

Maybe it's time to realise that you're never going to use that snowboard or ski jacket, and that you really do have one too many heaters. Whatever it is, take a picture and put it on Neighbourly for locals to see.

The Lane Street (movie and tv) Studios is now at full throttle in multiple productions.
Hitting the news tonight is the world class NZCIS in Heretaunga. The first All Blacks squad under Scott Robertson are training there as well as being accommodated within the complex which can house 400 stay-at guests.
TV One noted that the All Blacks plan to utilise the facility as often as needed and that 3 NRL clubs based in Australia have booked to use the facility for their squads (most likely for pre-season purposes) and that the Australian women's football team, the Matildas has also made a booking. It won't be long and this facility will be in great demand and by a host of different sports codes not only within NZ. Basketball and netball facilities are to be added.
At present the most notable regular users are the Hurricanes rugby teams, the Phoenix football teams and the senior Wellington Rugby Union rep teams.
