This is to allow for work continuing either side of the Drive, meaning it’s not yet safe for public access.

Health and safety is our number one concern so until work moves away from this area it will have to remain closed on weekdays. You can still access the area on weekends.

We’ll keep you updated through social media, and will announce the weekday reopening of Tunnel Drive on our website.

It’s Breast Cancer Awareness month – and Hutt Valley DHB wants your help to save lives.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting New Zealand women. Regular mammograms can find breast cancer early, leading to effective treatment before it spreads. Yet many women put breast screening off.

By encouraging someone you love to make a breast screening appointment, you can play your part. We’re fortunate to have a clinic right next to Hutt Hospital, offering free mammograms every two years to women aged 45-69.

Phone BreastScreen Aotearoa on 0800 270 200 or visit www.timetoscreen.nz for more information about breast screening.

I used to be one of the Colony Cats as I was rather shy, but for a while now I’ve been living in my own apartment in the Cattery. I’m learning some new social skills, so that one day I may be able to go out to live in a real home with gentle people who understand my special character.
A few weeks ago I had a sore mouth but after my dental treatment I’m feeling heaps better. (If you wish you can still help the humans pay for that at givealittle.co.nz...) I’m even getting quite cheeky about asking to be let out of my apartment....and even more cheeky about avoiding going back in!
Luckily most people here have a bit of a soft spot for me, so no one minds.
It would be great to meet you if you would like to drop in sometime to say “hello” at 4 King Charles Drive, Kingsley Heights, Upper Hutt.
