All funds raised go to Circuit International, a home-grown organisation helping the poor and disadvantaged in Myanmar and also sponsoring a girl in Ethiopia through TEAR Fund.
Both of these events are put on at Upper Hutt Baptist Church's Community Centre, corner Fergusson Drive and Milton Street. FIRST SATURDAY EVERY MONTH! Car boot sites $15 need to be booked at 528-3454.
The FUNDRAISER CAFE opens from 10am till midday serving a pot of tea or percolated coffee with a slice of home-made cake for only $4. Some months, there's even live music and we're hoping to have a HOME BAKING TABLE with items for sale. Pop in on SATURDAY 1 AUGUST and check us out!

He sculpted, molded and cast the whole thing by hand, with just trial and error to guide him. How cool is that? I found it so inspiring. Chatting to him made me want to give it a go myself. I reckon I might start with something a little simpler first, however. Those Acanthus leaves look so good... but also quite difficult! Maybe an art deco rose, to match my 30s house? Anyway, I'd love to hear from anyone else whose created something lovely for their homes from scratch. Drop me a line and let me know what DIY magic you've been up to!

Most Kiwis are entitled to five days of sick leave a year, but some - often those in lower paid jobs - get less.
New Zealand’s minimum sick leave allowance is one of the lowest in the OECD. In Australia they get 10 days, in most European countries it’s even more.

Just checked the election papers and noticed that the spelling of Rimutaka has changed to Remutaka. Apparently this was changed after the 2017 election, the point is, why weren't the common people given this information when it happened?

The recent press article re the new use of the former Westpac Bank site reminded me.
Scenario: I posed a question re the early use of this building.
A NEIGHBOUR from Silverstream responded. Simply because it was a 'Public Post' created by those who own Neighbourly. I was grateful for his reply and wished to Thank him personally and add a personal comment or two.
I am unable to do this as I can't PM him. (Haven't gone as far as referring to a phone book yet!!!)
Hence .... if you are also finding it inhibitive by not being able to message beyond you immediate neighbourhood ... let me know via this message so I can collate data for HQ.
Keep warm and safe,
Sandra
