Nominated by Maureen Coomer from Lower Hutt: "Meredith and Craig Butland and their team do a wonderful job, always keep me updated on what is happening and go the extra mile to make sure every job is to the customer's satisfaction. They drop people at their workplaces and pick them up when work on the car is finished, have courtesy cars available, do excellent mechanical work and are just really nice folk. They take the time to talk to customers about anything and are great neighbours to the local residents. Avalon Service Centre are definitely our local heroes in Avalon."

For $5 you can have a pot of tea or percolated coffee PLUS a slice of home baking or toasted cheese/relish sandwich!! Can that be beaten - we don't think so! We hope to have a Home Baking Table with items for sale, too. Out in the car park, you'll find the CAR BOOT SALE to browse and snap up that bargain. To book a site for $10, phone 528-3454. ALL PROCEEDS from the Cafe and Car Boot Sale go to Circuit International's work in Myanmar to improve the lives of poor and disadvantaged people. Check out the website for details of their projects - it's very worthwhile work and was started by a New Zealand couple with big hearts!
