As we age, the risk of having a fall increases. Those over the age of 65 have a 1 in 3 chance of having a fall and those over 80 it’s 1 in 2.
Having a fall can be devastating and can often result in a broken bone, which is painful and can take a long time to heal stopping us from doing the things we love.
The good news is that many falls are preventable. A new movement called Live Stronger for Longer aims to help reduce the risk of having a fall so we can live an independent and active life.
Having good strength and balance is key to staying on your feet. You can find approved community strength and balance classes in your area and practical information, advice, and resources on reducing the risk of falls.
Live Stronger for Longer and join the movement today.
Proudly brought to you by ACC, HQSC, MOH and your local community health providers.

Nieghbourly has decided to decline advertising from "quick loan" companies, and has removed the advert that I and many other had considered offensive in that the company harms the most vulnerable in the community.
This was a very happy outcome! Thanks for everyone that expressed their opinions on the subject.
Regards,
Joe

We really appreciate yourself and your neighbours getting in touch regarding your concerns and I would like to let you know that we have made the decision to decline Sponsored + Featured post bookings from 'quick loan' companies for the foreseeable future.
You might like to consider removing or disabling comments on your post 'Pretty Penny Loan Advertisement on Neighbourly' as we have removed their posts from Neighbourly now.
Thank you so much Joe - if you'd like me to give you a call to discuss things further I'd be more than happy to.

However, before we close down next Friday we still have the student led parent teacher conferences on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. School finishes at 12pm on both of those days and the buses will not be running early. Please make arrangements to pick your child/ren up or have them collected. If you haven't already booked your meeting, pop into, or call, the office and book it ASAP.
This is your opportunity to find out what's happening with your child and their learning. If you or they have any worries, questions or ideas, you have this chance to share them with their teacher/s. It is also your childs' chance to share with you their efforts and accomplishments. Make the most of it. As they get older it will not be cool to be seen with us (or so I've been assured).
Don't forget to check, or have your kids check, the lost property trolley for clothes and assorted missing items. Even if they think they've lost nothing, you may be surprised. The trolley is located outside the hall main doors or everything will spread on the benches between Room 1 and the hall.
Don't forget there are no Friday Treats tomorrow so pack your kids lunches!
And last but by no means, least, have you registered for Lunch Online for next term? Click on the link and follow the prompts. You can click on "School" to see the menu, or "Families" to register and order. The Adult Menu is only available to staff members. The Prim & Int (Primary and Intermediate) Manu is for students.
**Feel free to share these posts with your friends, and invite them to follow, for information about the school and the school community. If you have information you would like to share, please message me and I will see what I can do.**
