Sometimes we get caught up in the Christmas rush, and don’t take time to think about people who may be experiencing a much quieter holiday season. Contact with older people can help families to connect with what Christmas is really about, and it’s a great time to explore memories and think about traditions.
We will posting 5 tips leading up to Christmas on how you can connect with your older people this Holiday Season.
4. Pop over with a jar of jam or pickles or your favourite recipe.
This will give you a good opportunity to have a chat. Maybe you will learn something about your neighbour that you don’t already know. This social connection can be a great chance to explore traditions and share memories.

If you are near the coast, remember LONG OR STRONG: GET GONE
If you feel an earthquake that lasts for more than a minute or makes it hard to stand up, don’t wait for an official tsunami warning. Move immediately to the nearest high ground or as far inland as you can. Walk or bike if you can. Stay there until you get the all clear.

I may need a place to camp out with them in a camper van if I cannot find homes by 23/12. I have a kennel license for the pups, and they are registered and microchipped. I have a fully self contained camper van and am looking for someone with a farm or lifestyle block in the Bay of Plenty area who would not mind me camping in a corner of their land for a week or two. I would arrange to stay a limited time with and end date and move on that date. I can supply references. There would be two or three pups of around Fox Terrier size, although theoretically they are Staffy/Mastiff crosses, and my own dog, who is a quiet, gentle lab cross. I would keep them tied up or in a dog crate. They are reasonably quiet, not huge barkers, and I would be with them all day to manage them. If you would be able to help please reply to this post, text or call Kaye on 021 0845 0891. She needs a place to stay while we find a forever home for her. She is small and fine boned, and from the size of her feet will not get bigger than a small lab or spaniel. Technically she is American Staffy/Bull Mastiff cross. She is timid, but gets over it quickly to become friendly and affectionate. She loves meeting people and dogs and behaves well with them, although she can get a bit over-excited. Camilla is quiet, except when excited, and low key. She loves to cuddle and snuggle, sit on your lap and give you puppy kisses, and to run and have fun. Camilla has had a parvo shot, been wormed and is flea free, is registered and microchipped. She knows some commands, is almost toilet trained and can walk on a lead. She is lickey but not bitey, and is suitable for children aged 8 and over. If you would like this loving bundle in your home for a few weeks please text or call Kaye on 021 0845 0891. PLEASE do not like or thank this message - just reply if you can help, thanks
